Ok, we purchased a Miele silver moon b/c we heard it was the best. Every salesman raved about it, the Miele name speaks for itself, most reviews were 5 stars, etc. We just got 2000 new sq. feet of wood floors at home, so a new vaccuum we searched for. All in all its nice on wood floors, in corners/crevices, the features are convenient with the onboard tools and crevice cleaners and retractable cord and ergonomic design and its very quiet. The suction only shows it’s power on hard surfaces. On carpet with the power head the suction seems weak, plus my wife hates the tracks it leaves in the carpet. She likes vaccuum tracks, but Miele tracks are just ugly (silly problem, but you’ll see).

Anyhow, would I buy one again? For $1000, definitely not. My wife is on the fence with it, and our old upright Hoover that is about 10 years old (maybe $150 new) still works better on carpet.

If you want a $1000 hardwood floor vaccuum, this is it. Other than that I would search for another vaccuum.
