I purchased this vacuum for $99 from Sears for my small house for use on hardwood floors, tile floors, and a few rugs. For the first 6-8 months, it worked great. The suction power is truly amazing. But, then the problems began.

The body and motor of the vacuum seem to be built quite well. But, the parts and accessories don’t last very long. All of the attachments with wheels (hardwood floor attachment and carpet/rug attachment) have flimsy plastic wheels held on with a thin piece of plastic on the bottom. My hardwood floor attachment broke after 6 months. My carpet/rug attachment broke after 8 months. I took the parts in to my local Sears, where they sent me to another location, a Sears Repair Facility. Upon being greeted by the counter person, they told me that these parts broke frequently. I did receive replacement parts. But, now I feel like I have to be extra careful with them so that they don’t break again.

Now that the vacuum is working again, I will tell you about some of the pros and cons of the working vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum cleans all surfaces well. It has no problem picking up pet hair, dirt, etc. Using the upholstery attachment makes an easy job of vacuuming your furniture as well as baseboards and closets.

There are a few included attachments which have proven to be almost worthless simply because of their shape, size, and fit on the nozzle. For example, the crevices attachment is difficult to use because of the angle at which you are forced to attach it.

Unlike most canister vacuums which come with a black plastic flexible tube, this vacuum is equipped with a more flexible rubber tube with a metal coil inside. At first glance, you think that this is the better option. It is more convenient for it’s flexibility. But, once stepped on or stored too tightly in a closet, the rubber tube gets flattened and the metal coil keeps it flat. So, if you decide to purchase this model, you have to be very careful not to step on the tube or it’s deemed useless.

Two things I really liked about this model were the retractable cord and the power button on the handle. The cord is extra-long and retracts at the touch of a button. The power button is located on the handle and can be adjusted from low to high suction power.

If noise is a big factor for you, you might want to look for a different model. In exchange for the powerful suction, you gets a loud and high-pitched whirring sound while you clean. It is considerably louder than any other vacuum that I’ve owned.

If a friend or family member asked me if they should purchase this vacuum, I would probably not recommend it. I would tell them to look closely at the quality of the attachments of canister vacuums as they are constantly being used. Look for metal parts, rubber bumpers, and a good warranty.
