Two years ago, my sister and I bought this portable vacuum for my mother - by the way, isn’t it a little odd for me to be writing about vacuums? Well if, you would like to know, we have owned a few and my mother felt that I should write reviews on some of the good and bad. This is definitely a good review.

This was bought to replace a Sanyo portable canister vacuum that had finally shot the big one. We had owned that and retired our dirt devil roommate to our RV, and when the Sanyo died, well, we were in a state of shock.

Not to mention that adding ANOTHER dog to our household (two total) didn’t make things any better. So, we needed a lightweight portable canister vacuum that could pick up all the hair and dirt from our bare floors and furniture.

The lights of heaven had shown down that day in Target, and my sister and I both agreed that it was a perfect present. We took it home, and, to say the least, mom was a bit confused but altogether intrigued. She took it out, and put the configuration together, and WHAM!- it was magic.

The Shark super vac was a snap to assemble. It comes with the vacuum itself, a 2-foot black crush proof hose, a dusting/furniture tool, and extension wand and crevice tool. The cord reaches about 27 feet. It has a 2 liter dust cup, and has a pre motor filter that can be shaken out after each use. The only downside to this whole machine is the HEPA filter…It has to be changed every six months and can be a hassle to get in the slot and out.

*Also as a bonus, is the Turbo tool, an air driven beater bar for cloth cushions and added pet hair removal. It is official, god has answered a prayer.

The Shark isn’t the quietest vacuum, but does it pack a punch of power! It is great for cleaning the floors and gets every speck of dirt, dust, and dog hair out of the cracks in the hardwood floor. It also gets all the dust from under beds, on furnace grates, and is great for car interiors. We like it to clean those spaces between our sliding glass doors, so it can move back and forth smoothly.

There is a suction control switch on the hose, so you can clean drapes and curtains and things. We like it to clean our wall hangings, like cloth pictures and such.

All in all, this is one handy machine. Whether you own a $1,200.00 vacuum, or are in need of a portable vacuum, the Shark super vacuum is a great buy and will not lose suction, ever.
