The price : $280.00After having my last two vacuums die unceremonious deaths, I decided to do a little more research in buying a vacuum than usual. I checked consumer, and epinions for reports on the latest canister vacuums. I tried out my neighbors vacuums to see if …
I purchased this less than a year ago. I used it very infrequently (lucky enough to have a housekeeper) yet already it is falling apart. It squeals and squeaks terribly. It has this really dumb “feature” that drives me nuts. The handle will turn 180 …
I bought this at Lowe’s. The store manager offered me 20% off the list price of $499 because the other model I wanted was not in stock. I got it home and went through the un-boxing ritual, being careful to put the attachments on a high table so they …
I recently brought home a kitten and discovered that I have developed an allergy to cat dander. My old Eureka Bravo has worked fine for ten years with no repairs needed. But now I needed a HEPA vacuum because when it comes to pet dander, my old Bravo …
For $400 and change, I’d expect a vacuum to pull the pad out from under the carpet; this thing does. O.K, I exaggerated a tad. We live in Japan 1/2 of the year and we have a hot little vacuum over there that does pull the pad through the carpet; but …
The company and product has changed over the years, and nowadays to get a true Electrolux of the quality of 10 years ago will run you over $1000., but this lower price Electrolux model doesn’t disappoint. I have been using Electrolux for over 30 years …
I’m not one to write a review about a vacuum, but this one I could not resist. It came out the box easily and assembly was relatively simple. When I turned it on, oh boy! First of all, the telescoping tube that is attached to the motorized head …
My grandmothers Electrolux canister died after 30 yrs, 15 of those helping me clean rental units. I researched. Consumer reports liked the Kenmores, I found them to be poorly made, next on their list was the Electrolux, now owned by Eureka, cleaning people seem to like them. Therefore I bought it and have found it to be very good; light weight, easy to use, (much better than my Grandmother’s, good suction cleans all surfaces effceintly, (same as my Grandmother’s). Additionally, you don’t have to change nozzels for bare and carpet surfaces. The telescopic wand make it really easy to clean stairs, that’s why I went with a canister
If you think you are buying an Electrolux vacuum just like the sturdy and reliable one that you mother had all through your childhood, you are mistaken. Be warned! This vacuum looks beautiful but is poorly constructed. On the unit we bought from a national home improvement chain the telescopic wand to powerhead connector retaining mechanism failed after less than 2 hours use. Try getting it repaired! We ended up demanding our money back. Your local Electrolux dealer will quickly tell you that they cannot repair it because they cannot get parts. Turns out that there are effectively 2 Electrolux companies selling vacuums. This model is made by the swedish Electrolux company which also makes Eureka and a number of other brands. The old reliable Electrolux vacuum company is now known as Aerus. Do a Web seach for “Aerus Electrolux.”
This vacuum has good suction, and great filtration. Filters for the motor and bag. Great for allergy sufferers. You can smell the clean air after vacuuming for about an hr. Not too many tools come with this machine, just your basics. The one con is the powered brush roll. It’s awkward. It rotates 90 degrees to the right and back to center. No left rotation. It really should have a full 180 rotation. This machine retails for about $500. It should be around $300.
model I got is Electrolux EL 6989 A oxygen ultra
We bought this vacuum 6 months ago, it broke twice already, and the service person where I took the vacuum to fix told me that he does not sell this type anymore because of many complaints he got.
I bought it after researching, it was new product on the market with just few good reviews but since Electrolux is mainly known for vacuums I decided they must know their business.
It cleans well, it’s light but I hate (obviously) that it broke down on me twice in 6 months!!
- cord is short
- bag change and filter change indicator does not work!! bag could be completely full ( when touched it feels hard)
- power brush does not clean too well, when it stopped working I used only floor attachment to clean my carpets and got better results using my power
(arms and muscles)
I would not recommend this vacuum to anybody, way to expansive an it does not last.
“get the miele” service man told me, so it looks next time it gets down I get the miele for …$700
