This 12 amp vacuum is way overpowered and underutilized. It’s brisled head is unpowered, using suction from the motor to rotate. It barely picks up anything. The motor automatically shuts off when it overheats. This is a good feature to have. The problem is that this happens about every 6 minutes. Then about 30 minutes are needed for it to cool down. It takes the better part of a day to vacuum my 1100 sq ft apartment. The attachments are handy but there’s no place to store them on the vacuum, so they end up in various places and need to be hunted down each time.

I bought this to replace a Bissell upright but my household includes 2 dogs & this machine wore out in 3 months. It will pick up on bare floors.

I had another compact Dirt Devil for years and it the only concern I had with it were the plastic sweeper wands. I purchased this model because I had such good luck with the previous one I owned and it had metal sweeper wands instead of plastic. I thought this would be a more durable sweeper. I have owned this model for 8 months. It runs for about 20 minutes then overheats and shuts down. It is a piece of junk. I would not recommend this to any one. After purchasing this Dirt Devil I will have to go with some other brand.
